You can find more details on your pension and how much you’ll be receiving based on age and years of service on the City of Boston website. This calculator is designed to provide an estimate of your retirement pay. If you have additional or specific questions or are looking to retire, you must meet with a member of the City’s Retirement Board.

Annual Leave is paid out at 100%. You can choose to use your leave prior to your retirement date or take the pay out as one lump sum.

Sick leave is paid out at 27%. As a reminder, any amount of sick time above 1,050 hours/150 days may be converted to Annual Leave at a rate of 21 hours/3 days of Sick Leave for 7 hours/1 Day of Annual Leave, which increases the value of your sick time from 27% to 33%.
